Our warranty terms.
Every roof we install carries a workmanship warranty from Total Restoration & Roofing AND a material warranty from the manufacturer. Here's exactly what each covers, how long it lasts, and what's excluded.
Lifetime Workmanship Warranty
Total Restoration & Roofing warrants that all roofing work we perform is free from installation defects for the lifetime of the original homeowner, subject to the terms below.
- Duration: "Lifetime" means the lifetime of the original homeowner who purchased the roof from us, so long as they continue to own the property. A move terminates the workmanship warranty unless it is transferred (below).
- What's covered: defects in our installation of shingles, underlayment, flashings, ridge caps, vents, and drip edge, including leaks caused by installation defects.
- What's excluded: damage from hail, wind (over the manufacturer's rated wind speed), fire, ice dams, foot traffic on the roof after installation, animal damage, penetrations added by other contractors, and failure of underlying decking that was structurally sound at install (verified by our decking-inspection sign-off).
- Transferability: Non-transferable by default. It may be transferred one time to a subsequent buyer of the home within the first 5 years if registered with us in writing (email [email protected]) within 30 days of the sale, and if a paid inspection ($150) confirms the roof is in the condition documented at install.
- How to file a claim: email [email protected] with your address, install year, and photos of the issue. We'll respond within 3 business days and schedule an inspection.
Manufacturer Material Warranties
Every product we install carries its own manufacturer material warranty. The exact terms are set by the manufacturer, not by Total Restoration & Roofing, and are subject to change without notice — always confirm the current terms directly with the manufacturer before relying on them.
- Owens Corning — as an Owens Corning Platinum Preferred Contractor, we can register the Platinum Protection warranty on qualifying shingle systems. See Owens Corning warranty terms.
- Atlas — StormMaster line carries Atlas's enhanced warranty when registered by a certified installer. See Atlas warranty terms.
- GAF — Timberline AS II and other GAF Class 4 products qualify for GAF's enhanced system warranty when installed by a GAF-certified contractor. See GAF warranty options.

Manufacturer warranties are between the homeowner and the manufacturer. We assist with registration and paperwork but do not administer or fund manufacturer warranty claims.
